MUD’s, MOO’s and MUVE’s – oh my!

Need to know what an Ogg Vorbis does? Like most things technology (and education) related, Second Life comes replete with much jargon.

  • MUD’s — Multi-User Dungeon/Domain/Dimension games)
  • MOO’s — MUD – Object Oriented (text based low-bandwidth game system)
  • MUVE — Multi-user virtual environments)

And the list goes on.

Linden maintains a SL glossary as well as other sites here and here. I have also found Wikipedia to be a helpful site for getting my bearings on new terms related to virtual worlds.
